The conditions are clarified under which regular (i.e., singularity-free) black holes can exist. It is shown that in a large class of spacetimes that satisfy the weak energy condition the existence of a regular black hole requires topology change.

  1. Dynamical Formation of Regular Black Holes

    gr-qc 2024-12 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

In quasi-topological gravity, a collapsing thin shell bounces at small radius, producing a regular, geodesically complete black hole instead of a singularity.

  2. Regular black holes from thin-shell collapse

    gr-qc 2024-12 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

In D≥5 pure gravity with an infinite tower of higher-curvature terms, spherical thin-shell collapse generically produces regular black holes that bounce into new universes.

  3. Topological regular black holes without Cauchy horizon

    gr-qc 2025-05 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Hyperbolic and toroidal black hole metrics are constructed with finite curvature invariants and a single horizon, so no Cauchy horizon, and a generalized areal radius extends this to spherical topology.

  4. Regular fluid of strings black hole with non trivial core and asymptotic structure by gravitational decoupling

    gr-qc 2026-08 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

A cloud-of-strings black hole can be made regular by screening both the mass and string terms with a Hayward-type factor, resulting in a deformed core and modified thermodynamic and quasinormal-mode behavior.

  5. $\tt BlackHawk$ $\tt v3.0$: Hawking Radiation from Regular Black Holes

    gr-qc 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

BlackHawk v3.0 adds Hawking temperatures and greybody factors for multiple regular black hole metrics to an existing public code via numerical routines.

  6. Finite Curvature Construction of Regular Black Holes and Quasinormal Mode Analysis

    gr-qc 2025-06 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Regular black holes are constructed by prescribing finite curvature invariants with analytic profiles, yielding singularity-free geometries whose quasinormal mode stability depends on the effective potential's peak-to...

  7. Effects of matter with anisotropic pressure on the Fan-Wang regular black hole shadows

    gr-qc 2025-07 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

Surrounding a Fan-Wang regular black hole with a Kiselev-type anisotropic fluid with omega in (-1,-1/3) modestly enlarges the horizon, photon sphere, and shadow, and EHT data constrain the fluid strength a to about 0....

  8. Strong gravitational lensing effects around rotating regular black holes

    gr-qc 2024-12 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

Strong lensing by rotating regular black holes shifts lensing coefficients, image positions, magnifications, and time delays relative to Kerr, with M87* time delays differing by up to tens of hours while image positio...
