We present a Lorentz-invariant formulation of baryon chiral perturbation theory including spin-3/2 fields. Particular attention is paid to the projection on the spin-3/2 components of the delta fields. We also discuss the nucleon mass and the pion-nucleon sigma term.

  1. On the photon mass generation in Rarita-Schwinger QED

    hep-th 2024-12 reject novelty 6.0 of 10

The one-loop photon self-energy in Rarita-Schwinger QED is computed in 2, 3, and 4 dimensions, giving the Schwinger mass in 2D and higher-derivative-dominated pole structures in 3D.

  2. Bhabha-like scattering in the Rarita-Schwinger model at finite temperature

    hep-th 2024-12 reject novelty 4.0 of 10

For a massive Rarita-Schwinger spin-3/2 fermion coupled to photons, the tree-level Bhabha-like differential cross-section is derived at finite temperature, with a claimed T squared high-temperature growth.
