The arguments for the possibility of violation of P and CP symmetries of strong interactions at finite temperature are presented. A new way of observing these effects in heavy ion collisions is proposed -- it is shown that parity violation should manifest itself in the asymmetry between positive and negative pions with respect to the reaction plane. Basing on topological considerations, we derive a {\it lower} bound on the magnitude of the expected asymmetry, which may appear within the reach of the current and/or future heavy ion experiments.

  1. A higher-harmonic observable for the chiral magnetic effect in heavy-ion collisions

    nucl-th 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

The hexadecapole component of Δγ(φ_pair) is proposed as a CME-sensitive and background-insensitive observable based on magnetic field fluctuations in heavy-ion collision models.

  2. Quark and gluon production in the presence of the time-varying chiral magnetic current

    hep-ph 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

Time variation of the chiral magnetic conductivity in quark-gluon plasma modifies chiral Cherenkov radiation rates and produces strong jet polarization.

  3. Long lived quasi normal modes

    hep-th 2024-11 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A large Chern-Simons coupling makes quasinormal modes of magnetically charged AdS black branes approach real frequencies, yielding long-lived modes in the dual boundary theory.

  4. Scattering Amplitudes and Resonant Processes in QED with Chiral Chemical Potential and Chiral Magnetic Conductivity

    hep-ph 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

QED scattering amplitudes in a chiral medium with constant μ5 and b0 exhibit resonant behavior in multiple processes, with computed rates for 1→2 processes determining widths of fermion and photon states.

  5. Quark orbital angular momentum as a chiral magnetic effect

    hep-ph 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

The calculation yields a large negative orbital angular momentum L_{u-d} from chiral magnetic effects that partially cancels the positive spin contribution and reduces total J_{u-d} to match lattice QCD.

  6. Nuclear Physics Confronts Relativistic Collisions Of Isobars

    nucl-ex 2025-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

RHIC isobar data are explained by different shapes of 96Ru and 96Zr, with 96Zr showing a large octupole deformation, so nuclear structure uncertainty, not the magnetic field, dominates the observed ratios.

  7. Event-by-event analysis of chiral charge separation in $p^{\uparrow}+$Au collisions within an improved AMPT model

    hep-ph 2026-08 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

An event-by-event CME source in an improved AMPT model predicts a surviving charge-separation signal in p+A collisions, strongest for the IV minus II geometry difference.

  8. Constraining the chiral magnetic effect using spectator and participant planes across Au+Au and isobar collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{\rm NN}}} = 200$ GeV

    nucl-th 2025-01 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

AMPT simulations suggest the CME signal-to-background plane ratio b/a is 0.88±0.08 in Au+Au, closer to unity than isobar collisions (0.65±0.18), implying the two-plane CME method is more reliable in Au+Au.

  9. Experimental Search for the Chiral Magnetic Effect in Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions: A Perspective

    nucl-ex 2025-02 conditional novelty 3.0 of 10

The chiral magnetic effect in heavy-ion collisions remains unconfirmed, with current data giving a 2.9-sigma hint in Au+Au and an upper limit near 10% in isobar collisions.
