We find the D(-1) and D1-brane instanton contributions to the hypermultiplet moduli space of type IIB string compactifications on Calabi-Yau threefolds. These combine with known perturbative and worldsheet instanton corrections into a single modular invariant function that determines the hypermultiplet low-energy effective acction.

  1. Symmetries of non-maximal supergravities with higher-derivative corrections

    hep-th 2026-03 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

Higher-derivative corrections explicitly break all hidden symmetry enhancements in the three-dimensional reductions of non-maximal supergravities.

  2. Towards the Non-Perturbative Completion of 4d N=1 Effective Theories of Gravity

    hep-th 2025-10 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

    Small-volume regimes of flop curves in 4d N=1 F-theory require non-perturbative states—blow-up moduli and D3-string excitations—to complete the locally enhanced N=2 spectrum.

  3. Testing F-theory GUTs with the Axiverse

    hep-th 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

In F-theory GUTs, non-universal ALPs induced by hypercharge flux satisfy g_aγ/m_a well below the QCD axion prediction when gauge couplings unify near the string scale.

  4. Coexisting Flux String Vacua from Numerical K\"ahler Moduli Stabilisation

    hep-th 2025-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Numerical scans of Type IIB compactifications find single scalar potentials containing coexisting KKLT/LVS and Kahler-uplifted/LVS minima, including AdS, Minkowski, and dS pairs.
