We show that SU(2)_L Yangian and q-deformed SU(2)_R symmetries are realized in a two-dimensional sigma model defined on a three-dimensional squashed sphere. These symmetries enable us to develop the two descriptions to describe its classical dynamics, 1) rational and 2) trigonometric descriptions. The former 1) is based on the SU(2)_L symmetry and the latter 2) comes from the broken SU(2)_R symmetry. Each of the Lax pairs constructed in both ways leads to the same equations of motion. The two descriptions are related one another through a non-local map.

  1. Time-Dependent Integrability from Gauge Theory, I

    hep-th 2026-07 accept novelty 7.5 of 10

Spacetime-dependent 4d Chern-Simons theory generates time-dependent integrable field theories whose allowed time dependence coincides with one-loop RG flow while preserving Lax integrability.

  2. Twists of trigonometric sigma models

    hep-th 2025-04 accept novelty 7.0 of 10

A new class of Z_N-twisted integrable sigma models is constructed from 4d Chern-Simons theory, and Z2 twisting by an outer automorphism of SU(n) produces models inequivalent to the untwisted ones.

  3. Minimal Factorization of Chern-Simons Theory -- Gravitational Anyonic Edge Modes

    hep-th 2025-05 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

Minimal edge modes compatible with Chern-Simons topological invariance are proposed as quantum group particles, yielding a factorization of 3d gravity state space that matches proposals linking Bekenstein-Hawking entr...
