abstract

We examine interactions between dark matter and dark energy in light of the latest cosmological observations, focusing on a specific model with coupling proportional to the dark energy density. Our data includes Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) measurements from the Planck 2018 legacy data release, late-time measurements of the expansion history from Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) and Supernovae Type Ia (SNeIa), galaxy clustering and cosmic shear measurements from the Dark Energy Survey Year 1 results, and the 2019 local distance ladder measurement of the Hubble constant $H_0$ from the Hubble Space Telescope. Considering Planck data both in combination with BAO or SNeIa data reduces the $H_0$ tension to a level which could possibly be compatible with a statistical fluctuation. The very same model also significantly reduces the $\Omega_{\rm m}-\sigma_8$ tension between CMB and cosmic shear measurements. Interactions between the dark sectors of our Universe remain therefore a promising joint solution to these persisting cosmological tensions.

  1. Disentangling Similarity and Relatedness in Topic Models

    cs.CL 2026-03 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

Topic models lie on a spectrum from thematic-relatedness-rich to similarity-rich, and that position predicts which downstream tasks they handle well.

  2. Hubble tension: the shape wall

    astro-ph.CO 2026-07 accept novelty 6.0 of 10

Late-time modifications to the expansion history can raise H0 by at most about 2% (conservative) to 3.7% (permissive) if the CMB acoustic scale is fixed.

  3. The $H_0$ world cup. II. A comprehensive competition between proposed Hubble tension solutions

    astro-ph.CO 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Against a common 2025-26 dataset (Planck PR4, ACT DR6, SPT-3G, DESI DR2, Pantheon+), early dark energy and early modified gravity models win the H0 competition (~3σ residual tension), while radiation and late-time sol...

  4. A microphysically inspired approach to dark matter-dark energy interactions: first bounds on dark-sector scattering cross sections

    astro-ph.CO 2026-01 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A microphysically motivated Q∝ρ² dark-sector interaction is constrained by cosmological data, giving upper limits A<7.6×10⁻²⁵, B<0.048, and H₀=67.71±0.65 km/s/Mpc.

  5. Dark sector interactions in the $w \rightarrow -1$ limit: velocity locking in pure momentum exchange models

    astro-ph.CO 2025-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

In momentum-exchange dark sector models, the suppression of matter clustering moves to smaller scales as w→−1 due to velocity locking, and ignoring DE perturbations erases this effect.

  6. BAO miscalibration cannot rescue late-time solutions to the Hubble tension

    astro-ph.CO 2025-10 accept novelty 6.0 of 10

Even after rescaling BAO data to prefer H0≈73 km/s/Mpc, none of six tested late-time dark-energy models can resolve the Hubble tension once unanchored SNeIa and CMB geometry are included.

  7. Background-level reconstruction of scalar-field potentials from dark-energy histories and comparison with analytic potential families

    astro-ph.CO 2026-03 conditional novelty 5.5 of 10

A background reconstruction maps prescribed ρ_de(z) histories to V(φ) and ranks analytic potentials by Bayesian evidence, with exponential preferred for CPL and shifted-tanh for sign-switching targets.

  8. The $H_0$ World Cup. I. Summary of the baseline group stage results

    astro-ph.CO 2026-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

In a systematic head-to-head analysis, early dark energy and early modified gravity models reduce the Hubble tension to about 3σ and are favored over ΛCDM, while radiation and late-time alternatives are not.

  9. Accelerating scaling solutions from dark matter particle creation

    gr-qc 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Accelerating scaling attractors without dark energy appear only when the interaction is controlled by DM density and energy flows from DM to a barotropic fluid.

  10. Robust Preference for Dark Sector Interactions

    astro-ph.CO 2026-01 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Interacting dark matter–dark energy models fit DESI BAO and CMB data as well as evolving-dark-energy (CPL) models, with a coupling preference that persists under DES-Dovekie supernova recalibration.

  11. Little ado about everything II: an `emergent' dark energy from structure formation to rule cosmic tensions

    astro-ph.CO 2025-02 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

An ensemble-averaged stochastic cosmology with a 'little ado' noise term produces an emergent dark energy that fits late-time data and claims to relieve the H0 and f sigma8 tensions.

  12. Neutrino mass constraints in the Schwarzschild-de Sitter black-hole dark energy model with ACT DR6 and DESI DR2 data

    astro-ph.CO 2026-07 conditional novelty 4.5 of 10

SdSDE dark energy yields a ~0.16–0.21 eV positive neutrino-mass preference with DESI+ACT data, but χ² strongly favors extended ΛCDM and the shift is likely compensation.

  13. Alleviating the $H_0$ tension through the interacting dark energy model from quantum gravitational field theory in light of DESI DR2

    astro-ph.CO 2025-10 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

With DESI DR2 BAO plus CMB and a SH0ES prior, the two-parameter eeΛCDM model gives δΛ=-0.41±0.14 and H0=71.9±1.0, easing the Hubble tension to 0.8σ, but SN datasets erase the signal.

  14. Dark Energy Is Not That Into You: Variable Couplings after DESI DR2 BAO

    astro-ph.CO 2025-08 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

With DESI DR2 data, one interacting dark sector model with a time-dependent coupling shows a nonzero coupling at more than 95% CL, but Bayesian evidence still favors Lambda-CDM.

  15. Averaging Dynamics of Scalar Field-Matter Interacting Models in Anisotropic Universes: The Locally Rotationally Symmetric Bianchi I Spacetime

    gr-qc 2025-08 reject novelty 4.0 of 10

The authors apply averaging methods to classify late-time attractors for nine interacting dark sector models in Bianchi I cosmology, but the general interaction formula does not match the specific models analyzed.

  16. Solving an Interacting Quintessence Model with a Sound Horizon Initial Condition and its Observational Constraints

    gr-qc 2025-07 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

An interacting quintessence model with initial conditions set by the CMB sound horizon angle increases H0 with coupling strength, but observational constraints show it does not resolve the H0 or S8 tensions.

  17. An overview of what current data can (and cannot yet) say about evolving dark energy

    astro-ph.CO 2025-02 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

The apparent preference for evolving dark energy depends strongly on which supernova catalog and which BAO survey are used, and is not robust across all independent data combinations.

  18. Hubble Tension and the G-step Model: Re-examination of Recent Constraints on Modified Local Physics

    astro-ph.CO 2025-08 reject novelty 2.0 of 10

The paper argues that the G-step model remains a viable solution to the Hubble tension by widening error bars, adopting a weaker luminosity-gravity scaling, and reinterpreting Earth history and distance-ladder data.
