The R\'enyi and Tsallis entropies are discussed as possible alternatives to the Bekenstein-Hawking area-law entropy. It is pointed out how replacing the entropy notion, but not the Hawking temperature and the thermodynamical energy may render the whole black hole thermodynamics inconsistent. The possibility to relate the R\'enyi and Tsallis entropies with the quantum gravity corrected Bekenstein-Hawking entropy is discussed.

  1. Thin-Shell Wormholes from Entropy-Induced Black-Hole Geometries

    gr-qc 2026-07 conditional novelty 5.0

Wormhole throats constructed from entropy-induced black-hole metrics always have negative surface energy; constant-barotropic shells are linearly unstable, while variable Chaplygin shells can be stable.

  2. Modified Cosmology from Mass-to-Horizon Relation: Background Evolution

    gr-qc 2026-06 conditional novelty 5.0

Generalized horizon-entropy models are cosmologically viable only within a narrow window around the Bekenstein–Hawking area law; all surviving models mimic ΛCDM.

  3. Scalar-Tensor Gravity as a Probe of Generalized Black Hole Entropy

    gr-qc 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 5.0

Links generalized black hole entropies to scalar-tensor gravity via Misner-Sharp mass and Wald entropy, yielding distinct scalar potentials with cosmological implications.

  4. Scalar-Tensor Gravity as a Probe of Generalized Black Hole Entropy

    gr-qc 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 5.0

Generalized black-hole entropies are realized via Misner–Sharp mass and Wald entropy in scalar-tensor gravity, yielding distinct Einstein-frame scalar potentials with cosmological implications.

  5. Black Hole Thermodynamics via Tsallis Statistical Mechanics and Phase Transitions Probed by Optical Characteristics

    gr-qc 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 5.0

Tsallis entropy for RN black holes produces three thermodynamic branches with mean-field phase transitions whose signatures appear in photon-sphere optical observables.

  6. Modified Cosmology from Mass-to-Horizon Relation: Background Evolution

    gr-qc 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 4.0

Viable generalized horizon entropies from the mass-to-horizon relation are restricted to a narrow neighborhood around the Bekenstein-Hawking law, yielding only Lambda-CDM-like background evolution.

  7. Black Hole Thermodynamics via Tsallis Statistical Mechanics and Phase Transitions Probed by Optical Characteristics

    gr-qc 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 4.0

Tsallis statistics applied to Reissner-Nordström black holes yields a generalized entropy leading to Van der Waals-like phase transitions whose critical behavior is reflected in photon-sphere observables.

  8. Photon Spheres and shadow of modified black-hole entropies

    gr-qc 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 4.0

Modified black hole entropies alter photon sphere radii and shadow sizes, with parameters constrained by Event Horizon Telescope observations of Sgr A*.

  9. Photon Spheres and shadow of modified black-hole entropies

    gr-qc 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 4.0

Corrected black hole entropies produce distinct shifts in photon sphere radius and shadow size that are constrained by Event Horizon Telescope data on Sagittarius A*.

  10. Photon Spheres and shadow of modified black-hole entropies

    gr-qc 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 4.0

Entropy corrections to black holes produce modified metrics whose photon-sphere and shadow sizes can be constrained by Sgr A* observations.
