In this paper, we construct a general bulk wave packet in the AdS/CFT correspondence. This wave packet can be described both in bulk and CFT descriptions. Then, we compute the time evolution of the energy density of this wave packet state on the vacuum in the CFT picture of $AdS_3/CFT_2$. We find that the energy density of the wave packet is localized in two points, which means that the bulk wave packet corresponds to two light-like particle-like objects in the CFT picture. Our result implies that the entanglement wedge reconstruction given in [1] is invalid.

  1. Geodesics from Quantum Field Theory: A Case Study in AdS

    hep-th 2026-04 conditional novelty 7.0

Two new QFT prescriptions for geodesic motion are defined and shown to reproduce timelike and null geodesics in global AdS3 via stress tensor and position operator expectation values in scalar wave packets.

  2. Bulk-cone singularities and echoes from AdS exotic compact objects

    hep-th 2025-12 unverdicted novelty 7.0

AdS exotic compact objects imprint bulk-cone singularities from null geodesics and echoes from trapped waves on CFT Green functions, signaling no horizon.

  3. Subregion Complementarity in AdS/CFT

    hep-th 2023-09 unverdicted novelty 7.0

Subregion duality fails in AdS/CFT at leading large N, leading to the proposal of subregion complementarity allowing different CFT operators to describe one bulk subregion.

  4. Entanglement Wedge Reconstruction without Holographic Quantum Error Correction

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0

A locality-based commutant argument shows that finite-N holographic CFTs lack the protected logical sector required for holographic quantum error correction, leaving only region-by-region entanglement wedge reconstruction.

  5. Bulk Motion in Global AdS$_3$ from the Boundary Energy-Density Perspective

    hep-th 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 5.0

Boundary energy densities in CFT2 encode the periodic boundary-to-boundary propagation of null excitations in global AdS3 via chiral peaks whose weights and timing track bulk geodesics.

  6. AdS gravastar and its signatures from dual conformal field theory

    hep-th 2025-12 unverdicted novelty 5.0

AdS gravastar glued from AdS-Schwarzschild and de Sitter yields horizon-less signatures including specific bulk-cone singularities and echoes in dual CFT retarded Green functions.
