Carrollian field theories have recently emerged as a candidate dual to flat space quantum gravity. We carefully quantize simple two-derivative Carrollian theories, revealing a strong sensitivity to the ultraviolet. They can be regulated upon being placed on a spatial lattice and working at finite inverse temperature. Unlike in conventional field theories, the details of the lattice-regulated Carrollian theories remain important at long distances even in the limit that the lattice spacing is sent to zero. We use that limit to define interacting continuum models with a tractable perturbative expansion. The ensuing theories are those of generalized free fields, with non-Gaussian correlations suppressed by positive powers of the lattice spacing, and an unbroken supertranslation symmetry.

  1. The Energy-Momentum-News Complex near Future Null Infinity

    hep-th 2026-07 accept novelty 7.5 of 10

A Carroll-covariant energy-momentum-news complex at future null infinity yields Ward identities that generalise the Bondi loss equations, with an anomalous Carroll boost.

  2. Missing Descendants in the Carrollian Conformal Family

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Including the missing K0 descendant chain completes Carrollian conformal representations and produces C2>0 sectors and two-point correlators fixed only up to functions of Carrollian invariants.

  3. Revisiting Schr\"odinger CFTs: Factorization, Massless Particles, and a Path to the Bootstrap

    hep-th 2025-10 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Schrödinger CFTs are reformulated via a harmonic-trap thermofield double, giving a state-operator correspondence for all operators and a factorization proof of non-renormalization.

  4. Light and Shadow OPEs: A Carroll Symmetric Approach to Flat Holography

    hep-th 2025-06 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Translation symmetry alone fixes the scaling dimension and leading OPE coefficient for light-transformed Carrollian primaries, matching known graviton, gluon, and Einstein-Yang-Mills results.

  5. Soft gravitons in three dimensions

    hep-th 2024-11 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Three-dimensional flat-space gravity, despite having no propagating gravitons, exhibits an infrared triangle: a soft graviton theorem, BMS3 asymptotic symmetries, and gravitational memory effects, all equivalent throu...

  6. Carroll fermions of arbitrary spin

    hep-th 2026-07 accept novelty 6.0 of 10

Free massless fermions of arbitrary spin admit two inequivalent Carrollian (c→0) limits, electric and magnetic, derived from the Fang–Fronsdal actions, with the magnetic theory reducible to the projected relativistic ...

  7. A unified expansion of Einstein's gravity

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A unified (s,n)-parametrized expansion of the Einstein-Hilbert action yields Galilean, Carroll, Lorentzian, and string Carroll gravity, and near-horizon black hole geometries satisfy the string Carroll equations.

  8. BMS$_3$ invariant field theories

    hep-th 2026-07 accept novelty 6.0 of 10

New BMS3-invariant 2D scalar theories (electric, magnetic, canonical, coupled) with boundary analysis, flux laws, monodromy matching to 3D gravity, and complementary AdS3/dS3 flat limits.

    hep-th 2025-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

In the BMS free fermion model, the two-interval modular Hamiltonian has local plus bi-local terms, and the vacuum entanglement entropy for n intervals is the chiral-CFT formula with c_L=1 and c_M=0.

  10. A finite Carrollian critical point

    hep-th 2025-04 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10
