We study in detail the space of perturbations of a pair of dual $N=1$ supersymmetric theories based on an $SU(N_c)$ gauge theory with an adjoint $X$ and fundamentals with a superpotential which is polynomial in $X$. The equivalence between them depends on non-trivial facts about polynomial equations, i.e.\ singularity theory. The classical chiral rings of the two theories are different. Quantum mechanically there are new relations in the chiral rings which ensure their equivalence. Duality interchanges ``trivial'' classical relations in one theory with quantum relations in the other and vice versa. We also speculate about the behavior of the theory without the superpotential.

  1. Overlooking 3d dualities from mezzanines and balconies

    hep-th 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 6.0

New 3d dualities are obtained by T-duality reduction of 4d mezzanine and balcony models, with partition function matching after double scaling limit and a proof of required confining dualities via tensor deconfinement.

  2. Six Easy Pieces: interplays among dualities in 4d, 3d and 2d

    hep-th 2025-12 conditional novelty 6.0

Baryon-deformed SU(N) gauge theory with an antisymmetric tensor is shown to flow to a free magnetic phase, and its reductions yield new 3d SU/SO and 2d SU/USp dualities.

  3. Loop Corrected Supercharges from Holomorphic Anomalies

    hep-th 2025-12 conditional novelty 6.0

The complete one-loop supercharge for 4d Lagrangian SUSY gauge theories is derived in the holomorphic twist, packaged for N=4 SYM as a compact superfield formula.

  4. Weyl Mutations in Quiver Yangians

    hep-th 2026-01 conditional novelty 5.0

Weyl group reflections act as Seiberg-like dualities on A_n quiver gauge theories, mapping stability chambers to each other while conjecturally leaving the quiver Yangian Y(sl_{n+1}) invariant.

  5. The Potency of Nilpotence

    hep-th 2025-12 unverdicted novelty 5.0

Nilpotent-direction analysis on the moduli space supports duality for W_{A_k} superpotentials but shows the duality conjecture fails for W_{D_{k+2}} models in N=1 SUSY gauge theories.
