We provide a simple derivation of particle-vortex duality in d=2+1 dimensions. Our starting point is a relativistic form of flux attachment, designed to transmute the statistics of particles. From this seed, we derive a web of new dualities. These include particle-vortex duality for bosons as well as the recently discovered counterpart for fermions.

  1. Worldline Higher Spin Gravity

    hep-th 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 8.0 of 10

A worldline path integral model for higher-spin gravity in AdS4 is constructed using twistor actions and double-line vertices, reproducing boundary correlators of free boson and fermion vector models.

  2. Chern-Simons-matter conformal field theory on fuzzy sphere: Confinement transition of Kalmeyer-Laughlin chiral spin liquid

    cond-mat.str-el 2025-07 conditional novelty 8.0 of 10

A fuzzy-sphere exact diagonalization study shows the fIQH to bFQH transition is continuous, with emergent conformal symmetry and a single relevant singlet of scaling dimension Delta_S = 1.52(18).

  3. Entanglement in Presence of Topological Interfaces and Dualities

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Duality interfaces in 2d CFT project the vacuum entanglement spectrum onto a single symmetry sector, making the interface itself a physical symmetry-resolution filter.

  4. Sp(4,Z) actions on 3d U(1)^2 symmetric theories: Order-five duality and bilayer quantum Hall hierarchies

    hep-th 2026-07 accept novelty 7.0 of 10

An order-five Sp(4,Z) duality acts projectively on 3d U(1)^2 theories, and its hierarchy operations generate candidate bilayer quantum Hall states at 3/8+3/8 and 5/12+5/12.

  5. Proliferation transitions from a topological phase in $2+1$ dimensions

    cond-mat.str-el 2026-02 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

A general 2+1d transition theory out of a topological phase, driven by one Abelian anyon, is constructed and shown to depend on a single integer parameter, with p=0 giving gauging.

  6. Symmetry theta angles and topological Witten effects

    hep-th 2025-06 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Symmetry theta angles are intrinsic, Lagrangian-independent parameters of any non-anomalous Abelian invertible symmetry, and their universal effect is a topological Witten effect that shuffles twisted sectors while pr...

  7. Planar Abelian Duals of Chern-Simons QCD

    hep-th 2025-06 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Proposes a new family of infrared dualities between non-Abelian 3d Chern-Simons QCD and Abelian planar quiver theories, with a bosonization rule trading flavors for quiver columns.

  8. Bosonization versus the Nielsen-Ninomiya theorem

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.5 of 10

The 2D modified Villain model's Weyl operators reproduce free Dirac correlations in the continuum, and their no-doubler Dirac kernel is non-local, showing exactly how bosonization evades the Nielsen-Ninomiya theorem.

  9. Thermal field theory correlators in the large-$N$ limit and the spectral duality relation

    hep-th 2025-09 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The spectral duality relation, previously found for 3d CFTs and 4d black holes, is shown to hold for meromorphic thermal two-point correlators in any dimension and for correlators related by double-trace deformations,...

  10. Bootstrapping the Simplest Deconfined Quantum Critical Point

    hep-th 2025-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

Conformal bootstrap bounds for U(1)-charged scalars in 3d are saturated by the CP^2 model's large-N and lattice predictions, suggesting the CP^2 deconfined quantum critical point is a conformal field theory.

  11. Spacetime Duality Beyond Conformality

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 5.5 of 10

Massive 2D scalars lose spacetime self-duality after exact cancellation of the linear conformal correction, leaving a quadratic Liouville deformation and a non-local dual; massive fermions dress as m→m e^{φ/2} into Li...

    hep-th 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 5.0 of 10

Computes O(1/N) corrections to central charges C_J and C_T in conformal QED_d-GNY and scalar QED_d models, obtains scaling dimensions of adjoint bilinears, and finds reasonable agreement with SO(5) DQCP estimates from...

  13. Landau theory for lattice higher gauge theory and Kramers-Wannier duality

    hep-th 2025-07 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Lattice higher gauge theories are rewritten as Landau field theories on closed surfaces, yielding a unified phase description and an infrared duality between higher-form Landau theories.
