abstract

The $DD^*$ scattering phase shifts in the $T_{cc}^+=cc\bar{u}\bar{d}$ channel are extracted from lattice QCD for five different charm quark masses and a fixed light-quark mass corresponding to $m_\pi\simeq 280$~MeV. The phase shifts are analysed employing two approaches: effective range expansion and Lippmann--Schwinger equation derived in the effective field theory. In the latter case, the results imply an attraction at short range parametrised by contact terms and a slight repulsion at long range mediated by one-pion exchange with $m_\pi >m_{D^*}-m_D$. The poles in the amplitude across the complex energy plane are extracted and their trajectories are discussed as the charm quark mass is varied. Two complex conjugate poles corresponding to a resonance below threshold are found for $m_c$ close to the physical value. They turn into a pair of virtual states at the largest $m_c$ studied. With further increasing $m_c$, one virtual pole representing $T_{cc}^+$ is expected to move towards the two-body threshold and turn into a bound state. The light-quark mass dependence of the $T_{cc}^+$ pole is briefly discussed using the data on $DD^*$ scattering from other lattice collaborations.

  1. Distillation and position-space sampling for local multiquark interpolators

    hep-lat 2024-12 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

Randomly displaced sparse grids inside distillation produce an unbiased estimator that makes local tetraquark operators affordable, with sampling noise already negligible at every-eighth-point spacing.

  2. Finite-volume quantization condition from the $N/D$ representation

    hep-lat 2024-11 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

A finite-volume quantization condition based on the N/D representation is derived and claimed to remain valid when the energy coincides with left-hand cuts, where the original Luescher condition fails.

  3. Two-pion exchange for coupled-channel scattering of two heavy mesons

    hep-ph 2024-11 accept novelty 7.0 of 10

The authors derive the next-to-leading-order two-pion-exchange potentials for heavy meson and heavy antimeson scattering and show the results are close to simple momentum-dependent contact terms.

  4. Universal parameters of the $\Lambda(1380)$, the $\Lambda(1405)$ and their isospin partners from a combined analysis of Lattice QCD and experimental results

    hep-ph 2025-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A combined global fit of lattice QCD spectra and experimental Kbar N data within chiral unitary approaches gives pole positions for the Lambda(1380) and Lambda(1405) at physical and lattice quark masses, with systemat...

  5. Low-energy $DD$ scattering in lattice QCD

    hep-lat 2025-02 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

The first lattice QCD calculation of single-channel DD scattering finds a weakly repulsive S-wave isovector interaction and a slightly attractive P-wave isoscalar interaction.

  6. Left-hand cut and the HAL QCD method

    hep-lat 2025-01 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A quantum-mechanics model shows that the left-hand cut does not change the binding momentum extracted from IR-regulated potentials, validating the HAL QCD method's treatment of near-threshold states like T_cc.

  7. Prediction of an $I(J^{P})=0(1^{-})$ $\bar{b}\bar{b}ud$ Tetraquark Resonance Close to the $B^\ast B^\ast$ Threshold Using Lattice QCD Potentials

    hep-lat 2024-12 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A coupled-channel Born-Oppenheimer calculation with lattice QCD potentials predicts a broad \bar{b}\bar{b}ud tetraquark resonance about 4 MeV above the B*B* threshold, with mass 2m_B + 94 MeV and width 140 MeV.

  8. A short review on the compositeness of the $X(3872)$

    hep-ph 2025-02 conditional novelty 5.0 of 10

Radiative decays and the LHCb line-shape data are incompatible with a purely molecular X(3872) and favor a compact or partially composite state, with a proposed molecular-amplitude fit for a decisive test.

  9. Production of doubly charmed tetraquark $T_{cc}$ via photon-photon fusion at electron-positron colliders

A diquark fragmentation model predicts that photon-photon fusion at CEPC and ILC can produce the doubly charmed tetraquark Tcc with thousands of events per year.

  10. Investigating the two-pion exchange of the double charm $DD^*$ chiral interactions and $T_{cc}$

    hep-ph 2025-09 conditional novelty 4.0 of 10

In this chiral EFT calculation the I=0 DD* two-pion-exchange potential is repulsive, and its near-cancellation with attractive contact and one-pion terms provides the weak binding of Tcc.

    hep-lat 2025-02 accept novelty 1.0 of 10

A review of lattice QCD results concludes that doubly heavy tetraquarks Tbb(ud/us) are firmly predicted as bound states, Tcc appears as a virtual state at nonphysical masses, and Tbc is under active study.
