For the 2-charge extremal holes in string theory we show that the Bekenstein entropy obtained from the area of the stretched horizon has a statistical interpretation as a `coarse graining entropy': different microstates give geometries that differ near r=0 and the stretched horizon cuts off the metric at r=b where these geometries start to differ.

  1. Fortuity and Complexity in a Simple Quark Model

    hep-th 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

In a toy qubit model of quarks, BRST cohomology designates baryons as fortuitous and mesons as monotone, with the former displaying super-exponential complexity and the latter power-law complexity in the Veneziano limit.

  2. Bulk-cone singularities and echoes from AdS exotic compact objects

    hep-th 2025-12 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

AdS exotic compact objects imprint bulk-cone singularities from null geodesics and echoes from trapped waves on CFT Green functions, signaling no horizon.

  3. Macroscopic Black-Hole Remnants in a Nonlocal Field Theory: Towards Hawking Radiation in SFT

    hep-th 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

In a smeared massless scalar on dynamical black hole, outgoing particle number drops to zero after scrambling time due to SFT nonlocality, implying macroscopic remnant.

  4. Index saddle for supersymmetric F1-P black ring

    hep-th 2026-01 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A complex supergravity solution is identified as the index saddle of the F1–P small black ring; its higher-derivative corrections reproduce the microscopic index √(nw−JQ) up to an unfixed constant, in a restricted thi...

  5. A Holographic, Hydrodynamic Model of a Schwarzschild Black Hole

    physics.gen-ph 2025-04 reject novelty 6.0 of 10

The author proposes a holographic model of a Schwarzschild black hole interior as a degenerate neutrino fluid with equation of state P = ρ/9, based on a modified signum metric.

  6. Tests of General Relativity with Binary Black Holes from the second LIGO-Virgo Gravitational-Wave Transient Catalog

    gr-qc 2020-10 accept novelty 5.0 of 10

No evidence for deviations from general relativity is found in LIGO-Virgo binary black hole events, with improved constraints on waveform parameters, graviton mass, and ringdown properties.
