abstract
We construct an analytically solvable simplified model that captures the essential features for primordial black hole (PBH) production in most models of single-field inflation. The construction makes use of the Wands duality between the constant-roll (or slow-roll) and the preceding ultra-slow-roll phases and can be realized by a simple inflaton potential of two joined parabolas. Within this framework, it is possible to formulate explicit inflationary scenarios consistent with the CMB observations and copious production of PBHs of arbitrary mass. We quantify the variability of the shape of the peak in the curvature power spectrum in different inflationary scenarios and discuss its implications for probing PBHs with scalar-induced gravitational wave backgrounds. We find that the COBE/Firas $\mu$-distortion constraints exclude the production of PBHs heavier than $10^4 M_\odot$ in single-field inflation.

The swallowed spike: the formation of light primordial black hole structures around heavy seeds
No torque mechanism studied supplies enough angular momentum for the innermost light-PBH shells around a heavy seed, so the spike core is swallowed and far less dense than a WIMP spike.

Spectator Axions in String Inflation and Primordial Black Holes
In Fibre Inflation, spectator axions with f≲0.1 M_Pl leave the PBH power spectrum unchanged, while for f≳0.1 M_Pl and exponentially small non-perturbative prefactors they can raise P_R from 1.9e-4 to 3.5e-3 and enable...

Primordial black holes forming during kination: the trapped, the overdense, and the void
In one non-attractor inflation model, initially similar field fluctuations produce three distinct black-hole formation channels—trapped, overdense, void—with collapse thresholds determined by the full density profile,...

Superhorizon curvature perturbations in hybrid inflation revisited
Hybrid inflation's waterfall tachyonic instability grows isocurvature modes that convert to curvature perturbations at the field-space turn, yielding a k^{3}-peaked spectrum with always-positive f_NL that enhances PBH...

Baryogenesis via Asymmetric Evaporation of Primordial Black Holes
Evaporating primordial black holes, biased by a new gravitational interaction, can reproduce the observed baryon asymmetry once entropy dilution and chemical-potential-dependent emission are included.

Inflationary magnetogenesis beyond slow-roll and its induced gravitational waves
In the Ratra inflationary magnetogenesis model, a brief non-slow-roll phase amplifies the magnetic field power spectrum with maximal slope 4.75, and the induced gravitational wave background has a characteristic plate...

Implications for Pulsar Timing Arrays of Sub-solar Black Hole Detections: From LVK to Einstein Telescope and Cosmic Explorer
A Bayesian analysis shows that a future sub-solar PBH detection would make the primordial SIGW interpretation of PTA data favored over the SMBH interpretation, but this preference is driven by the detection prior.
