We construct a model in which four dimensional chiral fermions arise on the boundaries of a five dimensional lattice with free boundary conditions in the fifth direction. The physical content is similar to Kaplan's model of domain wall fermions, yet the present construction has several technical advantages. We discuss some aspects of perturbation theory, as well as possible applications of the model both for lattice QCD and for the on-going attempts to construct a lattice chiral gauge theory.

    hep-lat 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

PINNs optimize Dirac operators to satisfy the Ginsparg-Wilson relation, reproducing overlap fermions and autonomously recovering both the standard and a Fujikawa-type generalized GW relation via polynomial ansatz search.

    hep-lat 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 7.0 of 10

A one-link taste-splitting mass in 3+1D staggered fermions gaps the bulk and hosts two-flavor massless Dirac edge modes whose SU(2) and parity anomaly descend from UV bulk charges.

  3. Dynamics of $E_6$ Chiral Gauge Theories

    hep-th 2025-05 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

E6 gauge theories with NF=1,2,3 fundamentals are solved in the near-supersymmetric limit, and NF=3 admits a vacuum with unbroken SU(3) and massless composite fermions in the 10 representation.

  4. Predicting the spectrum and decay constants of positive-parity heavy-strange mesons using domain-wall fermions

    hep-lat 2025-01 conditional novelty 7.0 of 10

First lattice calculation of the B*_{s0} and B_{s1} decay constants is presented, alongside D*_{s0} and D_{s1} results, but the fits without two-meson operators may be biased.

  5. Bosonization versus the Nielsen-Ninomiya theorem

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.5 of 10

The 2D modified Villain model's Weyl operators reproduce free Dirac correlations in the continuum, and their no-doubler Dirac kernel is non-local, showing exactly how bosonization evades the Nielsen-Ninomiya theorem.

  6. Perturbative quantum electrodynamics with generalized domain wall fermions

    hep-lat 2026-07 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

For generalized domain-wall fermions, the O(e^2) electromagnetic expansion requires new local seagull and anti-quark contact vertices, derived here for the first time.

  7. Renormalization of meson susceptibilities and RG-invariant symmetry ratios in QCD

    hep-lat 2026-07 accept novelty 6.0 of 10

A proof that the temperature-subtracted symmetry ratio of meson susceptibilities is exactly renormalization-group invariant for chirally symmetric lattice fermions.

  8. Minimal-doubling and single-Weyl Hamiltonians

    hep-lat 2025-12 unverdicted novelty 6.0 of 10

Minimal-doubling lattice fermion Hamiltonians yield single-Weyl phases when supplemented by a species-splitting mass term, but one-parameter symmetry-preserving deformations introduce additional Weyl nodes above a cri...

    hep-th 2025-06 conditional novelty 6.0 of 10

A modified crossed-domain-wall axion string on an N=28 periodic lattice produces an unpaired, single-chirality Weyl fermion branch, extending the Kaplan-Sen disk construction to string defects.

Using Möbius domain-wall fermions in two-flavor QCD, the authors find that vector/axial-vector and tensor/axial-tensor screening masses become degenerate above Tc, while the chiral-spin A-X splitting stays around 40 M...

  12. An inquiry on the Absence of Fermion Doubling and why the Nielsen-Ninomiya Theorem Does Not Apply to Nonlocal Quantum Field Theory

    hep-th 2026-07 accept novelty 5.0 of 10

A continuum nonlocal Dirac operator multiplied by an invertible zero-free entire function has exactly the same kernel and finite-momentum zero set as the ordinary Dirac operator, so fermion doubling is absent.

RBC/UKQCD presents preliminary, unrenormalized lattice form factors for B_s to D*_s semileptonic decay on a single ensemble, covering a q^2 range similar to published calculations.

  15. Lattice Weyl Fermion on a Single Spherical Domain-Wall

    hep-lat 2025-02 conditional novelty 3.0 of 10

On a spherical domain-wall lattice, a monopole background generates an extra center-localized zero mode with opposite chirality, so the low-energy theory is vector-like rather than chiral.

  16. Domain wall fermions
