The dynamics of a nearly-AdS2 spacetime with boundaries is reduced to two particles in the anti-de Sitter space. We determine the class of physically meaningful wavefunctions, and prescribe the statistical mechanics of a black hole. We demonstrate how wavefunctions for a two-sided black hole and a regularized notion of trace can be used to construct thermal partition functions, and more generally, arbitrary density matrices. We also obtain correlation functions of external operators.

  1. Replica wormholes and the black hole interior

    hep-th 2019-11 conditional novelty 9.0

Replica wormhole geometries justify the replica trick computation of the Page curve in holographic black hole models and support entanglement wedge reconstruction via the Petz map.

  2. Quantum JT Gravity in a box as a P\"oschl-Teller Scattering Problem

    hep-th 2026-07 unverdicted novelty 8.0

JT gravity in a box is quantized exactly by recasting its dynamics as Pöschl-Teller scattering, producing closed-form wavefunctions and correlators with finite-cutoff corrections beyond T Tbar.

  3. q-Askey Deformations of Double-Scaled SYK

    hep-th 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 7.0

q-Askey deformations of double-scaled SYK yield transfer matrices for orthogonal polynomials whose semiclassical chord dynamics map to ER bridges and new geometric transitions in sine dilaton gravity.

  4. q-Askey Deformations of Double-Scaled SYK

    hep-th 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 7.0

q-Askey deformations of DSSYK produce transfer matrices from basic orthogonal polynomials whose chord numbers map to ER bridge lengths and signal geometric transitions with discrete spectra in sine dilaton gravity.

  5. Medicine show: A Calogero model with principal series states

    hep-th 2025-07 unverdicted novelty 7.0

A deformed Calogero model accommodates unitary principal series states of sl(2,R) via operator domain changes, preserving unitarity and invariance while altering integrability, with solutions for N=2 and 3.

  6. Evaporating Black Hole Interior and Complexity Evolution

    hep-th 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 6.0

In a JT gravity model with an EoW brane, black hole interior complexity grows linearly until the Page time then decays exponentially, with fluctuations growing large afterward and signaling loss of self-averaging.

  7. An extremal black hole with a unique ground state

    hep-th 2024-11 unverdicted novelty 6.0

Microscopic D-brane description of non-supersymmetric extremal black holes yields a unique ground state with non-zero energy, confirming absence of degeneracy.

  8. Some universalities in the partition functions of low-dimensional gravity models

    hep-th 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 2.0

Conjectures universalities in partition functions across low-dimensional gravity models by examining similarities under parameter changes, wavefunction behaviors, entanglement, and wormhole connections.
