It has been suggested that a scalar field with negative kinetic energy, or ``ghost,'' could be the source of the observed late-time cosmological acceleration. Naively, such theories should be ruled out by the catastrophic quantum instability of the vacuum. We derive phenomenological bounds on the Lorentz-violating ultraviolet cutoff Lambda which must apply to low-energy effective theories of ghosts, in order to keep the instability at unobservable levels. Assuming only that ghosts interact at least gravitationally, we show that Lambda < 3 MeV for consistency with the cosmic gamma ray background. We also show that theories of ghosts with a Lorentz-conserving cutoff are completely excluded.

Phantom-divide crossing and suppressed structure growth in kinetically braided dark energy with momentum exchange
A linearly stable kinetic-braiding dark-energy model with CDM momentum exchange realizes upward phantom-divide crossing and weak CDM gravitational clustering, altering matter and CMB spectra.

Defocusing dark energy: Raychaudhuri diagnostics beyond $w<-1/3$ and the phantom divide
For sign-changing effective dark energy, smooth negative-to-positive density crossings make ρ+3p and ρ+p the correct diagnostics, give w=p/ρ a universal pole n(1+z†)/3, and force repulsion onset z_rep>z† while ρ<0.

Cosmological Evidence for Dark Axion-Dark Baryon Interactions from Apparent Phantom Crossing
Dark axion–dark baryon interactions improve the fit to CMB+DESI+SNe by Δχ²=-14.5 over ΛCDM, via a non-monotonic dark-matter mass that mimics phantom crossing, while leaving the Hubble tension unresolved.

The Coherence Principle: A Falsifiable Prior for Model Selection from the Grammar of Theories
The Coherence Principle supplies a falsifiable prior for Bayesian model selection by converting compatibility with a theory's validated grammar into prior weights via a maximum-entropy exponential controlled by one parameter.

Affine ANEC selects the closed FRW branch for geodesically complete cosmology
Affine ANEC obstructs non-static flat and open FRW from being null geodesically complete while ANEC-satisfying, but allows explicit scalar-field realizations for closed FRW with NEC-respecting matter.

UV-complete and stable Quintom Dark Energy models in the light of DESI DR2
Quintom dark energy is UV-completed in 5D NPGHU, producing a modified Quintom-B model whose massive gauge ghost fits DESI with negligible fine-tuning and remains stable for Λ ~ O(10)H0.

About electroweak domain walls in Majoron models
Electroweak instantons alone do not produce Majoron domain walls; a tiny instanton mass from B+L breaking is cosmologically negligible and can act as a bias or dark energy.
