We study the dependence on configuration in momentum space of the primordial 3-point function of density perturbations in several different scenarios: standard slow-roll inflation, curvaton and variable decay models, ghost inflation, models with higher derivative operators and the DBI model of inflation. We define a cosine between the distributions using a measure based on the ability of experiments to distinguish between them. We find that models fall into two broad categories with fairly orthogonal distributions. Models where non-Gaussianity is created at horizon-crossing during inflation and models in which the evolution outside the horizon dominates. In the first case the 3-point function is largest for equilateral triangles, while in the second the dominant contribution to the signal comes from the influence of long wavelength modes on small wavelength ones. We show that, because the distributions in these two cases are so different, translating constraints on parameters of one model to those of another based on the normalization of the 3-point function for equilateral triangles can be very misleading.

  1. New exact bispectrum shapes in multifield inflation

    hep-th 2026-07 conditional novelty 8.0

Exact analytic bispectrum shapes are derived for multifield inflation at arbitrary quadratic mixing strength, showing a strong-mixing collider signal with frequency μ_eff = sqrt(m²/H² + λ² − 9/4).

  2. Dissecting the Scalar Cosmological Collider with the Cosmic Microwave Background

    astro-ph.CO 2026-07 accept novelty 7.0

A joint Bayesian fit of the multi-field inflationary Lagrangian to Planck bispectrum data finds no cosmological collider signal (max Δχ²=5.3) and shows weak-mixing template searches are invalid except at the smallest masses.

  3. Searching for Folded Primordial Non-Gaussianity with Galaxy Surveys

    astro-ph.CO 2026-07 conditional novelty 7.0

The galaxy bispectrum, not the power spectrum, is the main probe of folded primordial non-Gaussianity; narrow folded signals are washed out by Fourier-space binning.

  4. Pushing the Primordial Frontier: Cosmological Collider Signatures at Strong Mixing

    astro-ph.CO 2026-07 conditional novelty 7.0

Exact analytic squeezed-limit bispectra for strongly mixed two-field inflation, nonperturbative in the curvature-isocurvature mixing λ.

  5. First Search for Kaluza-Klein Gravitons and Radion Using Planck Data

    astro-ph.CO 2026-07 accept novelty 7.0

First Planck search for radion and KK-graviton bispectra finds no significant non-Gaussianity (max 1.8σ at m_KK ≈ 1.6H), while a warped 5D model can yield f_NL ~ 1–50.

  6. On-Shell Bootstrap of Loop Inflation Correlators with Spectral Dispersion

  8. One Feature, Three Clocks: Phase-Locked Gravitational Waves, Primordial Black Holes, and Non-Gaussianity from Periodic Warm Inflation

    astro-ph.CO 2026-06 unverdicted novelty 6.0

Periodic warm inflation imprints one log-periodic feature on the curvature spectrum that saturates asteroid-mass PBHs, generates dual-band GW backgrounds, and offsets the bispectrum phase by a quarter cycle fixed by s...

  9. Massive Exchange and the Sign of the Equilateral Bispectrum

    hep-th 2026-04 unverdicted novelty 6.0

The equilateral bispectrum from massive scalar exchange in inflation is not universally negative in the full EFT of inflation; its sign depends on a critical ratio of operator coefficients.

  10. Inflation with vector fields revisited: non-Gaussianities

    hep-th 2026-05 unverdicted novelty 5.0

In kinetically coupled vector inflation, the bispectrum in the large-h regime exhibits competing local and flattened non-Gaussian signals with distinct h scalings that distinguish vector-supported dynamics.
